A large percentage of your grade in Spanish is comprised of class participation. This is measured by Participation Points, both for daily participation (10 points possible per day) and by participating in speaking activities as shown by your Pasaporte.
You may make up Participation Points due to excused absences. Points lost by unexcused absence or lost in class may not be made up.
1. Participate in Spanish Club – 10 points per meeting; 30 points for Cena y Cine. Meetings on Mondays at lunch (12:15).
2. Come in early or stay late – use CD-ROM program or Paso a Paso tapes – 20 points per half hour.
3. Use Spanish outside of class – 15 points per 15 minutes of tape. Tape record yourself doing oral activities from the book, talking to a native speaker, singing, holding a conversation with a friend… just about anything as long as you’re using Spanish. Turn in your cassette to Señora McPeak.
4. Complete some written activities from the book – points vary. See handout available from Señora McPeak.
5. Online Participation Points– You may only complete lessons from the current chapter and previous two chapters for credit (Spanish 1 and Spanish 2). Follow the links above for the appropriate level.
